Our Story
Our Story
Why We Stay. Why We Fight. Why we speak
Stay One was born out of pain, love, and a deep desire to make sure that no one ever feels completely alone in their darkest moments.
Like many others, we’ve been affected by suicide — by the loss of people we cared about, and by watching loved ones silently struggle. We know what it feels like to grieve unanswered questions. We know what it means to carry pain in quiet spaces. And we know how vital it is to remind people: you matter, and your story isn’t over yet.
We are a group of people trying to change the narrative — to replace silence with conversation, shame with compassion, and isolation with community.
The Name “Stay One”
The name Stay One is both a call and a promise.
Stay one more day. One more moment. One more conversation.
Because sometimes that’s all it takes. One more chance to be seen. One more voice saying, “I’m here. I care.”
We don’t pretend to have all the answers, but we believe in the power of connection.
We believe that when people know they are truly cared for, they are more likely to stay.
A Mission Rooted in Partnership
Stay One isn’t a counseling service — we don’t offer direct clinical support.
Instead, we focus on building partnerships with schools, churches, first responders, and mental health organizations to bring awareness, education, and resources into the spaces where they’re needed most.
We’re also committed to standing with the families and friends left behind, helping them find healing and hope after loss — because they are part of the story too.
Starting Conversations That Matter
We’re developing an apparel line designed to do more than look good.
Each piece will be a conversation starter, a visible sign of solidarity, and a message that says: “You’re not alone. You are loved. Please stay.”
When someone sees that message — on a shirt — it might be the sign they didn’t know they needed. And if it changes even one person’s life, it will have been worth all of it.
If You’re Reading This
If you’ve lost someone.
If you’re struggling.
If you’re just trying to hold on.
Know this: you are seen, you are loved, and we’re so glad you’re here.
We hope you’ll stay —
One more moment. One more day. One more conversation.
Because people care. We care. And the world is better with you in it.
